Bio
I began my journey in the theatrical arts as a technical theater student in my home town of Fishers, Indiana. After graduating, I decided to focus specifically in lighting and spent the next four years earning an undergraduate degree in technical theater from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. I then went straight in to a graduate program and spent the following three years earning my Masters of Fine Arts in Lighting Design and Technology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, Illinois. After graduating, I spent about a year working a temporary job as a local museum manager while also focusing on professional freelance lighting designs. The following year, COVID hit and I found myself working as a test technician at a contract manufacturing company and later a drafting consultant and a project lead at a wedding events design business. The following year, I began my career as a theatrical educator and began working as a full time staff member at a public high school as a technical director. I am still working at the high school, where my responsibilities include managing all technical elements for eight mainstage and around thirty additional events in the school's performing art center every season. I also help teach students and lead both an after school club and direct technical theater students in running live performances.
